April Adventures

I want to apologize for being so late on this post. I usually post these at the end of the month or at the beginning of the next month. The first week in May, the video card in my computer died, so my computer was gone for a week getting fixed.  When I finally got it back I had a lot of work to catch up on.

April wasn't to busy or crazy:

We have a couple black snakes hanging out in the yard. This one likes to sun itself on top of one of the bushes in the front of the house.

We celebrated Easter the weekend after because my aunt was sick. She got the kids bubbles and I got a couple great pictures of the girls blowing them.

Here is a sketch I finished this month. There is a song by a local band called Dharmata (they are no longer together) and one of the lyrics says "I'm just a falling star" and it inspired me with this drawing. I really like the way it came out and will most likely at some point create a painting from it.

I also received the April Artsnacks box. You can read more about my review of the products here.

My nephew moved out, and I finally get my studio space. Here it is after we pulled up the carpet. There will be more pictures to come and a blog post to follow.

There was this pretty little yellow flower on a vine crawling up one of the bushes in the front yard.

We went to the Super Chevy Show at the Palm Beach International Raceway. It was great watching all the cars drag racing and then walking around seeing all the antique cars. I just love the sound of the engines rumbling and roaring. I didn't want to load all the photos I took here, but if you would like to check them out you can on my flicker page here. I am a huge fan of the 1970-1973 Chevy Chevelle, this is my dream car.

I was able to purchase some art supplies this month. Here is a couple things I purchased at Michaels. I got a Speedball Pen for Sketching with different size nibs. I am excited to try this. I also got some Prismacolor Verithin colored pencils to add to my collection of colored pencils.

This little haul was from Amazon. Following are some affiliate links (if you purchase from these links I get a small percentage from that purchase.) The first thing in the picture is the Pilot Eno Color Mechanical Pencils, in the middle is the Dr. Ph. Martins Bombay India Inks, then I got a 3 pack of the Uni-ball Signo White Gel Pens. I also got a small bottle of Mixol Ocean Blue Universal Pigment Tint (not pictured) but I will be talking about this and how I used it in my Studio update. The only thing I have used so far is the color mechanical pencils and they are pretty nice, they erase very easily. The only cons on these is the leads are pretty brittle and it only comes with 2 leads in each pencil. Another thing is the yellow, orange, and green are very hard to see. I will do a review as I use these items.

The boyfriends birthday is at the end of the month. I took him out to dinner on his actual birthday day. For his present I got him a custom framed poker chip holder (he collects the poker chips from the Harley dealerships we visit). So the next day we drove down to West Palm Beach to try this place called The Grilled Cheese Gallery. These sandwiches were amazing and we got poutine fries that were super yummy. Then I took him to the Harley Dealership down the street so he could get a poker chip to add to his collection.

That was about it for April. There is a lot coming up in May. Let me know what you have been up to this past month. If you would like to see my work in progress pictures or just some randomness you can follow me on Instagram and Facebook
