I had such a blast designing the covers for these books. As soon as we got the titles in the ideas just started rolling in. The titles are so fun they inspired me to run with the concepts. They were designed for grade levels 3–6.
The interiors were quite a lot of work creating lots of charts and graphs to explain the math concepts. They are aligned to the common core math and made me understand it little better. Basically, they show several different ways to come to the same conclusion to solve the problem.
I was able to pull a little of the design from the cover to follow in the interior. Showing the math problems ended up being a priority in these books.
I do wish I had a little more time then was given to design these books. I am sure I could have made the interiors a little easier to understand and would have been able to pull more of the concepts from the cover into the interior and have everything make a little more sense.
Overall they are great books. I just hope that the kids aren't to disappointed with them. I can just see them picking them up because the cover looks interesting and then finding out they are math books. I learned so much from working on these books!
